Keeley Muse Driver – The Ultimate Blues Driver?
Robert Keeley and Andy Timmons may have created the ultimate Blues Driver?
This Keeley Muse Driver is the latest collaboration between Andy Timmons and Robert Keeley. It features some unique takes on overdrive. Offering, everything from treble-boosting, warm tube-amp overdrive, and germanium fuzz. Could it be the only Blues Driver you’ll ever need?
Keeley Muse Driver
Keeley Electronics’ Muse Driver offers a lot of drive options. It manages this via the inclusion of two switches for Drive and Tone modifications, each with Robert Keeley and Andy Timmons’ favoured tones. First is the AT/RK Tone Switch which cuts lows for clarity or boosts the low-end, next is the AT/RK Drive Switch which alternates between asymmetrical silicon to dual germanium diodes.
These two switches mean that this drive pedal covers a lot of ground. Robert Keeley does know his stuff so I’m expecting a flexible drive with plenty of useful tones available.
Versatile Circuit
The pedal’s circuit offers a unique combination of JFET transistors, germanium diodes, and Op-Amp gain. It can also handle 9 to 18 Volt power supplies, which allows for more dynamic range and headroom. Users can also opt for either true bypass or buffered bypass, which makes this a flexible pedal for any pedalboard setup.
Ultimate Blues Driver
Keeley has taken the blues driver circuit, which he has decades of mod experience with, and made it into the ultimate version. Andy Timmons has then put in all his years of experience playing live, touring, and recording, The result is a super flexible, and very versatile drive effect. Each voice has a valid reason for being there and I think it offers great value for money. Especially, if you are a gigging guitarist who needs to cover a lot of ground.
One to check out in 2024 and you can preorder the new Keeley Muse Driver directly from Thomann now.
