BFD Drums BFD Player

BFD PlayerBFD has been a household name for some of the best acoustic drum libraries available for decades. The new BFD Player brings you 5 gigabytes of BFD sounds for free! 14 kits are included. The free sounds even come with the full set of velocity layers and mic channels – just like the full version of BFD 3. The easy-to-use mixer features four macro controls for instant sound shaping, and there’s a library filled with 340 grooves that you can drag and drop to a track in your DAW.

The free version of BFD Player comes with a 5 GB Core Library. Additional expansions are available for purchase. The software runs on macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats and as a standalone app. It is also included with the new Alesis Nitro Max e-drum kit.

MonsterDAW Monster Toys

MonsterDAW Monster ToysTime for some fun! Monster Toys by MonsterDAW is a collection of no less than 20 sampled musical toys. And it’s quite diverse: Play with a rubber duck or kazoo, dabble on glockenspiel, kids’ accordion, or baby trumpet, or bang it out on some marching band drums. They’ve even included the famous Casio VL-1 Pocket Synth! Check out the excellent rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” played by 20 musical toys in the video below. This one is sure to put a smile on your face.

Monster Toys is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, and AU formats.

Mensla FMD

Mensla FMDIn February of this year, Angelo Fazari aka Mensla released the excellent free MS-2 FM synthesizer. Now he’s back with an equally useful distortion plugin. In addition to input, drive, and output controls, FMD features a big knob for adding rich FM harmonics. The free version does contain a mildly annoying “casino” screen where you must win to continue using the controls. You can get around this by supporting the developer on his upcoming Patreon page.

FMD is currently available for Windows in VST3 and standalone formats. A Mac version is in the works.

FYI, i tried the BFD Player but I will probably not use it since (I guess) there is no way to do drum mapping for e-drums. So not much of a “Player” IMO.

Btw why are the comments always closed on the German page and not on the English page? Seems random.
