The MOTU Ultralite mk5 Firmware Update adds a selection of useful new features including Talkback, Wi-Fi Access, and A/B Monitoring.

The UltraLite mk5 is a hardy and flexible half-rack mobile USB interface with a total of 18 inputs and 22 outputs. Meanwhile, MOTU is, of course, a widely respected name in audio interface technology, known throughout the industry for decades.

UltraLite mk5 Firmware Update

“The UltraLite-mk5 essentially got a feature boost from our just-released 828 audio interface because they share the same DSP-driven CueMix 5 mixer and front-end app. While developing these features for the new 828, it made perfect sense for our engineering team to add them to the UltraLite-mk5 as well.”

Jim Cooper, MOTU Director of Marketing

One of the most exciting features of the new “Gen 5” driver is Wi-Fi access functionality. Here, this enables users to use the CueMix 5 app and control the UltraLite mk5 and other MOTU devices from one or more mobile devices on the same network.

In addition, there is a range of new studio control room features such as talkback, monitor grouping, and A/B monitor selection. This means you can now connect and control two sets of studio monitors directly from the UltraLite mk 5 via CueMix 5.

Also, if you use multi-channel monitoring, you’ll be pleased with the new Monitor Group function. Now, the main volume knob and its software version in CueMix can control any configuration of the assigned analogue outputs.

What’s more, CueMix now has a handy Talk button, with controls for routing, volume, and how much dimming happens when talkback is active.

Pricing and availability:

The new “Gen 5” firmware driver is available directly from MOTU as a free download.

The Two Notes Audio Engineering Genome is a virtual guitar rig designed for guitarists and has been in production for quite some time. Today, they launched the official release and it only costs $79!

Genome

Two Notes’ development of the Genome software has spanned five years, including a Beta Testing program back in 2022 and more beta versions throughout 2023.

This amount of research, and development combined with Two Notes’ long 15-year-plus history of making Impulse Response and amp technology, has all led up to this official launch. The price point of only $79 is also pretty amazing for everything this software offers.

It combines amp simulation, effects, and a channel strip all in one professional-sounding plug-in.

TwoNotesGenome_DynIR

DynIR technology

The Genome is powered by proprietary engines and includes Two Notes’ renowned DynIR technology. It also includes 160,000 studio-grade IR files that offer extensive mic positioning and dual mic-ing.

Lane-based signal flow and 20 components then help with quick preset creation, letting guitarists focus more on playing than tweaking settings.

TwoNotesGenome_Codecs

AI for ease

AI is then used to help users create new virtual rigs. This AI technology then offers an intuitive interface with essential controls for gain, bass, middle, treble, and volume, allowing for fine-tuning of static amp models.

Tube-Stage Modeling

It also uses the Tube-Stage Modeling (TSM) amplifier engine. This gives users professional-grade preamps that emulate iconic guitar and bass gear. Users can mix and match these preamps to create their tones. This is matched with the customizable power amp section that includes various tube models (6L6, EL34, EL84, KT88) in different configurations.

Twonotes_bigmuff

Effects

The software includes studio-grade effects and virtual stompboxes that allow users to create virtual guitar rigs with ease.

TwoNotesGenome_GreenMeanie

System Requirements

Two Notes GENOME is available in the formats VST, VST3, and AAX for Windows 7 and above, as well as AU for macOS from 10.7.

At only $79 it looks like a bargain, plus there is a 14-day trial period so that you can try before you buy.

Solid State Logic has announced a significant update to the UC1 controller and SSL 360° at NAMM 2024! Previously, the controller was limited to controlling SSL’s own channel strip plugins, giving you a console-like workflow in a DAW-based studio. With the free SSL 360° Link plugin, the SSL UC1 can now control any 3rd-party plugin. Talk about a revolution!

When SSL announced the UC1 controller back in 2021, it was a purpose-built control surface for SSL’s own channel strip and bus compressor plugins. The idea was to throw an SSL channel strip on every track for a console-like workflow in your DAW, especially in combination with the UF8 and UF1 controllers.

UC1 Controller now controls all your 3rd-party plugins

The list of things you can do with your SSL UC1 has just become a whole lot longer! At NAMM 2024, SSL announced the new SSL 360° Link plugin that allows you to map any 3rd-party plugin to the UC1. Any plugins mapped via SSL 360° Link become visible in the SSL 360° plugin mixer. The plugin comes with a number of ready-made mappings for SSL channel strip plugins from Slate Digital, Harrison Audio, Universal Audio, Waves, and Brainworx. But it’s not limited to SSL channel strips: According to the developer, you can quickly map any VST3 plugin to the controls of the UC1 using a mapping tool.

The SSL 360° Link plugin is free and will be available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX Native formats, SSL says. The UC1 is available at Thomann*.

SSL UC1 (original post from May 21, 2021)

Being a true SSL product, the UC1 boasts high-quality components: studio-grade encoders, switches, feedback LEDs, and an authentic moving coil Bus Compressor gain reduction meter, delivering a genuine console ‘centre section’ experience. It offers knob-per-function control of the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins, continuously displaying which plug-in is in use, and the value of the control currently engaged.

The UC1 is complemented by the new SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer application for Windows and macOS, allowing users to create their own virtual SSL console that works in unison with the hardware. This application provides instant access to both current and future SSL-designed Channel Strip and Bus Compressor plug-ins in a single window environment.

Ready to use right out of the box, the UC1 ships with full licenses for the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins. The Channel Strip 2 is a fully-featured SSL Channel Strip, based on the digital modeling of EQ and Dynamics curves from the XL 9000 K SuperAnalogue console. Version 2 adds SSL’s proprietary anti-cramping algorithms and the ability to externally trigger the dynamics sidechain. The Bus Compressor 2 expands on the familiar features with additional Ratio, Attack, and Release options, external sidechain triggering, and oversampling from x2 to x4.

This year will be an exciting one for all things Apple! Not only is the company about to release its VR headset Vision Pro but there is also a slew of new products slated to be announced. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has once again uncovered that it’s very likely we will get a revamped iPad Pro! Let’s see what else we know about this very exciting Apple Spring 2024!

Apple Spring 2024: Re-designed iPad Pro with OLED and new Macs

Mark Gurman is one of the leading Apple leakers. His predictions about new products from the giant from Cupertino have been correct more times than most other Apple leakers. And now, Gurman offers his prediction for the Apple Spring 2024! The two big launches will be the redesigned iPad Pro and updates for the MacBook Air series.

2021 Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (Wi‑Fi, 256GB) - Space Gray

2021 Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (Wi‑Fi, 256GB) – Space Gray

The new iPad Pro will look different and come with Apple’s latest CPU generation, M3. In addition, this new generation of tablets will be Apple’s first to have OLED displays. Up until now, Apple used a so-called “Liquid Retina XDR Display” for its tablets. In comparison, OLED is said to be both more energy-efficient and higher quality.

Furthermore, these new iPad Pro models are said to come with MagSafe wireless charging and a new Magic Keyboard made from aluminum. It is also not unlikely that this Apple Spring 2024 highlight will come with a new camera for higher-quality images and videos. Additionally, there will possibly also be a new, bigger iPad Air model. As for the iPad Pro, it will likely be a model sized 10.9″ and a new, even bigger one at 12.9″

MacBook Air with M3 and WWDC 2024

In addition to new iPads, Gurman is also quite certain that Apple’s entry line of laptops, MacBook Air, will be updated with the company’s latest CPUs, the M3 generation. With this addition, Apple makes a big push to get games to run smoother and look better on Macs. Because with M3, ray tracing and mesh shading, two technologies that aid high-quality graphics rendering in games, will be hardware-accelerated.

Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro

Once the iPads and MacBook Air models are released, we’re on the road to WWDC 2024 in June. Apple’s developer conference is usually the time when the company announces updates for its line of operating systems, macOS, iOS, watchOS, and iPadOs. This year, the focus will likely be on Vision Pro, and a new, probably AI-assisted version of Siri is expected to be unveiled.

Obviously, the big news this year in Apple land, outside these exciting products for Apple Spring 2024, is Vision Pro. Given its high price, its limited availability, and the lack of killer apps that draw people towards it, it (literally) remains to be seen how this whole VR thing will turn out for the company. We’re excited but also a tiny bit skeptical as to who Apple’s target audience for this is, especially in music production land.

The post The Best iOS DAWs and Apps for iPhone and iPad 2024 appeared first on gearnews.com.

]]>

While it may be hard for veteran recording engineers to accept, there’s no denying that today’s technology makes it possible to record, mix, and prepare entire albums using iPhones and especially iPads. In order to fully realize such projects, you need more than just powerful hardware – a crucial component is the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). But which iOS DAW is the best iOS DAW?

Answering this question is not trivial, as the preferences of music producers vary greatly. There are many different iOS DAWs on the market, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. To find the best iOS DAW, consider the different options while keeping your needs and working methods in mind. Of course, you do need an iPhone or iPad.

It’s all about finding a DAW that offers an intuitive user interface, has a wide range of features, and is reliable. Ultimately, the best iOS DAW is the one that allows the user to realize their creative vision efficiently and effectively.

iOS and iPadOS DAWs: pros and cons

In the world of Apple devices, the operating system plays a central role, with macOS at the heart of Mac computers. Compare with iOS on iPhones, and iPadOS, a version of iOS, designed specifically for iPads with their larger displays and more powerful hardware components.

It’s worth noting how impressive the performance of these mobile devices is, having moved to ARM architecture long before Mac computers. This technological advancement has led to an extensive range of programs, particularly in the area of audio applications.

The distinction between tablets and computers is particularly evident in the way we interact with these devices: Tablets such as the iPad are operated exclusively via a touch display, be it with a finger or a stylus pen. This unique way of interaction requires the software to be designed explicitly for a touch-input workflow, primarily digital audio workstations.

For the best iOS DAW, it is therefore essential that it is not only compatible with the powerful features of iPadOS but also offers intuitive and responsive touch operation. This ensures that music producers and creatives have full control over their musical projects right at the tip of their fingers.

Apple GarageBand belongs in our list of “The best iOS DAW”

Best iOS DAW: Apple Garagband

Best iOS DAW: Apple Garageband

GarageBand, the free DAW developed by Apple, is perfectly matched to the company’s own hardware, making it an excellent choice for use on iPad and iPhone. GarageBand allows you to start recording immediately and create your songs with various virtual instruments. In addition, the app offers an impressive selection of virtual amps, pianos, effects, loops, and samples that are essential for producing and composing.

The operation of GarageBand may seem unfamiliar initially, but after a bit of getting used to it, the app is exceptionally user-friendly. It is not only suitable for beginners who want to complete their songs from start to finish but also for anyone who wants to record ideas quickly and easily on the go.

GarageBand supports audio and MIDI recordings and allows exporting projects in various formats. However, stem export and pre-mastering in GarageBand is somewhat cumbersome. For these more advanced tasks, switching to a computer and a more fully-fledged DAW is best.

Still, when it comes to the best iOS DAW for fast, efficient, and mobile music production, GarageBand is an excellent choice. Incidentally, finished songs can be imported directly into the professional version Logic Pro, which is also available for the iPad.

GarageBand in the App Store

Apple Logic Pro as the best iOS DAW?

Logic Pro for iOS/iPadOS brings Logic Pro features to mobile devices with almost all of the instruments and effects from the macOS version included. For instance, legendary instruments like Sculpture, Alchemy, some older e-synthesizers, and even multi-effects like Step FX are available. In addition, the app is MPE-capable. However, it lacks Logic’s MIDI environment, pedal board, and special effects.

The app supports AUv3, third-party MIDI effects, and has a touch-optimized interface. It includes Alchemy, Retro Synth, and the new Beat Breaker instrument. Logic Pro for iPad is AUv3 and Ableton Link compatible and allows imports from the macOS version.

It is available for €4.99 per month or €49 per year, including a one-month trial. These features make it a top option for the best iOS DAW. Definitely a contender for a top position as the best iOS DAW.

Logic Pro for iPad in the App Store

Steinberg Cubasis

Cubasis, developed by Steinberg, is the counterpart to the renowned DAWs Cubase and Nuendo for iOS and iPadOS, respectively. As the little sibling, Cubasis offers a powerful alternative for mobile production. Cubasis is as intuitive as Cubase.

Best iOS DAW: Cubasis from Steinberg

Best iOS DAW: Cubasis from Steinberg

In terms of recording capacity, Cubasis allows you to record up to 24 tracks simultaneously at 24-bit quality and a maximum sample rate of 96 kHz. The number of audio and MIDI tracks is not limited, but the CPU performance of the device ultimately sets the limit.

Each track in Cubasis offers eight effect slots, eight send effects, and eight master effects. Some plug-ins are already included, others are unlocked after registration. It is also possible to purchase further effects and synthesizers through in-app purchases.

Steinberg Cubasis presents itself as one of the iPad’s most comprehensive and professional DAWs. This quality comes at a price: at 59.99 Euros, it is one of the more expensive options on the market.

Cubasis in the App Store

Image Line FL Studio Mobile

For users who already use FL Studio from Image-Line on their computer, FL Studio Mobile offers a seamless way to continue their musical projects on their tablet. The mobile DAW comes with 15 effect plug-ins and a selection of virtual sound generators, including a sampler, various drums, and loops.

FL Studio Mobile

FL Studio Mobile

The extensive MIDI features of FL Studio Mobile are particularly noteworthy and sure to delight many fans. In addition, the app also offers the option of recording and editing audio.

The workflows for recording audio and MIDI and for producing beats in FL Studio Mobile are pleasant and efficient. However, the mixing capabilities of this DAW are rather basic. Another aspect that deserves attention is the neon look of the user interface, which is modern and eye-catching but may not be pleasant for every user in the long term.

For users looking for the best iOS DAW and already familiar with FL Studio, FL Studio Mobile is an exciting option, mainly because of its compatibility and expansion options. However, potential users should remember the above aspects to ensure that the app suits their needs and preferences. It is available for 12.99 USD.

Ableton Note

Ableton Note is the long-awaited mobile notepad for users, live performers, and fans of Ableton Live. This idea has been around for years and has finally been realized by Ableton, the Berlin-based company.

Ableton Note mixing screen

Ableton Note mixing screen

Note is like a miniature version of Live. Working with the app is very similar to the desktop version of Ableton Live. This is my first impression as an Ableton Live fanboy who has been producing music with this DAW for a long time.

“Note” serves as a musical notepad, a kind of notepad for Ableton Live, and therefore only belongs in our top list of “best iOS DAW” to a limited extent. But it is more than just a tool for collecting ideas. With the iOS software, you can record musical sketches easily and intuitively on the go or anywhere with your iDevice. It allows you to bring your creative ideas to life wherever you are. You can find more information here in our checked out section.

Bandlab Music Making Studio as the best iOS DAW?

BandLab is probably known to many for its online DAW or for the acquisition of Sonar, which is now known as Cakewalk by BandLab. In addition, BandLab has something exciting to offer for iPad and iPhone – and it’s even free.

BandLab Music Making Studio, an app for mobile devices, focuses on working with loops. These can be recorded and edited on a total of 12 tracks. The range is complemented by a series of effect plug-ins, groove kits, and around 200 virtual MIDI instruments of varying quality.

One particularly interesting feature is the option to have your songs mastered automatically. Although the result of this automatic mastering will probably not reach the quality of a real pre-mastering, it is often a significant improvement over a completely unprocessed track. And best of all, this tool is entirely free!

If you’re looking for the best iOS DAW and are particularly keen on free, BandLab Music Making Studio is an attractive option. It’s an excellent option for music makers on the go who want to realize their ideas quickly and easily without having to sacrifice essential functions.

MedlyLabs Medly

Medly occupies a special place in the world of iOS DAWs with a visual design that is characterized by its minimalist, modern style. It reminds me a little of a blue Ableton Live. Medly was even awarded App of the Year in Japan and South Korea in 2016. This app allows you to record audio and MIDI data and divide it into different song parts. With these parts, you can quickly and easily change your track’s structure.

The app provides you with 16 virtual instruments, 100 loops, and several effects. The handling of pitch bends, fades and effect automation is comparatively good. However, I miss a classic editor GUI, and tracks are mixed via a fold-out mixer.

For music producers who are looking for the best iOS DAW and appreciate a clear, well-organized workspace, Medly could be an interesting option. The intuitive and streamlined user interface makes it particularly attractive to those who value efficiency and speed in the production process. This DAW offers a unique approach that sets it apart from other DAWs on the market and deserves special mention. Medly is free in the App Store and has a variety of in-app purchases available.

n-Track Studio

n-Track Studio for iPad is an excellent option, especially for a free DAW. There are a few options for those who want the full functionality of n-Track Studio. You can either rent the DAW as a monthly subscription for between 1 and 5 euros or buy it for around 30 USD.

This investment gives you unlimited audio and MIDI tracks and a 64-bit audio engine. Sample rates above 48 kHz are possible but require a compatible interface and can reach up to 192 kHz. These impressive technical specifications make n-Track Studio the best iPad DAW for many.

The operation of n-Track Studio is intuitive and fluid, which makes working with the software very comfortable. Visually, the DAW is appealing and modern, but at the same time retains traditional elements.

Beatmaker 3

Beatmaker 3 is a must-have app for those who specialize in creating beats. Although it lacks some features you might expect from a genuinely comprehensive audio app, there is still a lot going on to make exciting beats with. You create beats with virtual pads reminiscent of a Launchpad or Push controller.

You can do this with virtual instruments and record them in a timeline or sequencer. In addition to audio recording, Beatmaker 3 also allows you to use MIDI controllers. A solid mixer for your tracks helps you complete your song.

Another remarkable aspect of Beatmaker 3 is the user interface, which is very pleasantly designed. This makes it possible to work with the DAW for a long time without tiring your eyes. With a price of 29.99 Euros, Beatmaker 3 is not one of the cheapest options. But the consistently good ratings in the App Store speak for the quality and user-friendliness of the app.

Audiobus – a perfect companion to the best iOS DAW

For music producers serious about making music with their iPhone or iPad, I strongly recommend getting Audiobus as one of the first apps. This app is indispensable as it allows signal communication between different audio applications.

Audiobus 3

Audiobus 3

In addition, AUv3 effects and sound generators can also be integrated into Audiobus. This significantly increases the flexibility and versatility of musical production.

An outstanding feature of Audiobus is the way in which everything is clearly displayed in a matrix together with your controllers. This makes navigating much more accessible. In addition, Audiobus offers the option to synchronize everything via a MIDI clock.

Priced at 9.99 USD, Audiobus offers tremendous value. As a central element in the quest for the best iOS DAW, Audiobus proves indispensable. It allows you to create an efficient and seamless music production environment on mobile devices.

AUM

AUM is an exciting option for those not entirely satisfied with Audiobus or looking for an alternative. AUM’s range of functions is very similar to that of Audiobus. From routing to effects, virtual sound generators, samples, and MIDI, AUM offers a wide range of functions. One significant difference that makes AUM attractive to many users is the design of the interface.

AUM for iPAd

AUM’s intuitive and user-friendly design makes it possible to perform a variety of musical tasks efficiently and effectively. This makes the app a strong contender in the search for the best iOS DAW. It is a good choice for anyone who values a precise and customizable interface.

The new Neural DSP Cortex Control is officially out now, along with CorOS 2.3.0, and lets users manage every feature and setting of the Quad Cortex.

UPDATE 04/01/24

The full version of Neural DSP’s Cortex Control is now officially available to download. The software is free for owners of the Quad Cortex and is available on MacOS and Windows platforms.

This software allows basic control, editing, and management of the Quad Cortex and simplifies the process of backing up. It is a neat way of optimising workflow and should make using the whole system a lot simpler for many users.

Neural Capture

It can also be used to do bulk actions, plus it offers streamlined importing of Impulse Responses and easy creation of Neural Captures. This is handled by allowing Cortex Control internet access via USB.

They have also added the Live Tuner feature, allowing for tuning as required.

Well worth downloading for any Quad Cortex owners and it is available for free from this link.

CorOS 2.3.0

CorOS 2.3.0 has also been officially released along with the Cortex Control. It adds some new features and fixes some previous bugs in the system. Notable new features include MIDI Clock Out, Pinned Devices, the new Made by Me’ Filter added to the filter section, Stomp Mode Bypass Assignment, Swap Tempo and Tuner Access, Reset Menu, and Reset Settings Option.

Along with a UI overhaul of the Graphic-9 EQ which also adds the following;

  • HPF parameter value range is now OFF-500Hz.
  • Added an LPF parameter to the second tab of parameters.
  • The legacy Graphic-9 EQ device can be accessed through the Graphic-9 EQ parameter editor contextual menu.

Plus, the aforementioned bug fixes. As ever back up your system and follow the Neural DSP instructions before attempting the CorOS 2.3.0 update.

Cortex Control

Neural DSP has been teasing the Cortex Control for some time now and today it finally went into being downloadable as a Beta.

Guitar Multi Effect Quad Cortex

Edit and more

It means Quad Cortex users can now edit, backup, share, and play with all the parameters of the virtual amp and effects floor unit.

This is what users have been asking for and it will make Quad Cortex even more accessible for new and existing users.

Internet Access

Plus, Quad Cortex can now access the internet using the USB cable it’s connected to a computer with a connection. Making it easy to share and backup patches and tones.

No more relying on just the Quad Cortex’s built-in Wi-Fi.

Cortex Cloud

Users can also add IRs to their Quad Cortex or the Cortex Cloud profile via Cortex Control. The whole system has been designed to be easy to use and simple to navigate.

Easy To Use and Price Drop

I would expect this new software to really open up the Quad Cortex for a lot of users and make it more appealing to any potential new owners.

Users will need to update the firmware on their Quad Cortex with the latest CorOS 2.2.0 to use the new software.

The ease of use for editing and sharing, combined with the recent price drop of the Quad Cortex itself could well be a winning combination for Neural DSP.

Users can download the new free Beta for Windows and Mac from the link below.

This week on Guitar Gear Gems we take a look at the newly reawakened ReValver 5 virtual guitar rig software, which is now part of HeadRush. Then we check out the new Foxgear 100W Series of 100-watt amps in a pedal, available in four classic guitar amp voices. Finally, we check out the new KMA Machines ABY pedals, designed to make your rig simpler to setup.

ReValver 5

ReValver 5 virtual guitar rig software is back and is now under the HeadRush brand. Originally developed by Peavey and released in the early 2000s, it was once one of the top virtual amp and effects software packages.

It had been almost forgotten about, until the software underwent a series of ownership changes, eventually landing with inMusic who is the parent company of HeadRush. Now it is back and looking like a serious contender for the complete virtual guitar rig software solution.

ReValver 5

Hardware

ReValver 5 now has HeadRush hardware compatibility and so can be used within a DAW, or standalone and controlled by actual footswitches and pedals. It still contains the Peavey and Budda amp plugins, which the original was famous for, plus a wealth of amps and effects. Including specific HeadRush models that have been added to the library.

Multiple Versions

The revamped software is now available in various versions from free accounts with a basic set of amps and effects, to Starter, Standard, HeadRush, and Producer editions, which all cost slightly more each time, with each one offering more and more virtual gear.

ReValver 5

ACT

The ReValver online installer ships with what they describe as a set of world-class guitar amp, stomp, effect, and proprietary ACT (Audio Cloning Technology) instrument models. The world of virtual guitar rig software has moved on in recent years, but with HeadRush behind them, I think ReValver 5 could be back in business and worth checking out.

It is available for PC or Mac, as a stand-alone version or VST/AAX/AU plugin.

Foxgear 100W Series

The Foxgear 100W Series is a line of pedal-sized guitar amplifiers. These compact amps in a pedal, retail for only $249 each. They are available in four very distinct models, each designed to replicate the iconic sounds of well-known guitar amps.

Foxgear 100W Series

Four Amps

First up is the M-1959 model which is a tribute to the British classic rock sound with tones from the Marshall Plexi. Next is the HW-103 which is based on another British icon, the Hiwatt. Then there is the TW-100 which is based on an American black panel Fender Twin Reverb. Finally, the V-100 aims to mimic the chiming British Vox-style amp.

Foxgear M-1959

Amp/DI

Each one comes with an XLR Balanced Out with two controls and a switch, with options for both Direct and Cab Sim outputs. The latter uses VARICAB, a 100% Analog Variable Cab Simulator.

Foxgear 100W Series

100-watt Amp in a Pedal

They can each function as a full guitar amplifier, a Direct Box, or both. Powered by an external 30-volt DC power unit, they can offer 100W real RMS into 4 Ohms. This makes these perfect for a compact fly rig or as a potential backup to your regular gigging amp.

The price point on all four is competitive and overall, I like the no-nonsense approach that they offer.
