Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig Audio Interface: Leave Everything Plugged In!
The new Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig boasts 16 analog inputs, eight DC-coupled outputs, a standalone mixer with flexible routing, and then some. If you’ve got lots of stuff to connect, this could be your new audio interface.
Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig
The AudioFuse 16Rig is the new flagship of Arturia’s successful AudioFuse line. Building on the experience gained during the development of the smaller interfaces, the 16Rig is an impressive rack-mount or desktop interface designed to serve as the creative hub of your studio. Got lots of synths or external effects? With a plethora of ins and outs, the AudioFuse 16Rig allows you to leave everything connected and route any signal to where you want it to go.
With 16 analog line inputs, the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig seems a perfect match for studios with a lot of gear such as synths, grooveboxes, or external effects. You also get two XLR-1/4” combo jacks on the front, so there’s a place to connect your mics, as well. Inputs 3 and 4 are mirrored on the front on a minijack connector, which is great for plugging in a media player or other portable gear.
On the output side, the AudioFuse 16Rig features no less than eight analog line outputs. These are DC-coupled, so they can run your modular. In addition, there’s a pair of outputs for your monitors.
But that’s not all. The AudioFuse 16Rig also features dual ADAT I/Os for up to 16 additional channels, so you won’t run out of channels anytime soon. You also get Word Clock I/O and MIDI (1x In, 2x Out/Thru). The interface connects to the computer via USB-C. In addition, there are three USB-A ports for connecting additional gear (2 on the front, 1 on the back).
Comprehensive Routing
This impressive array of I/O is complemented by equally powerful internal mixing and routing capabilities. The AudioFuse 16Rig offers two low-latency internal mixers, which let you route signals any way you want. According to Arturia, things like multiple effect send/returns, quick A/B speaker monitoring, and more are easy to set up via the AudioFuse Control Center software. You can even use the interface standalone for DAWless sessions. A nice color display provides real-time feedback on levels, settings, and more.
Is the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig the interface electronic studios have been waiting for? With a huge amount of flexible connectivity, I think it’s got a lot going for it.
Price and availability
