Musikmesse 2017: Line 6 Helix LT arrives just in time for Frankfurt Show
The new Helix for 2017
The new Line 6 Helix LT has just been announced ahead of the Musikmesse Show and it looks like it will offer a lot of the functionality of the original Helix, but on a budget.
Helix LT
Line 6 have had their Helix out for around 18 months or so now and this latest incarnation is set to expand upon the initial product by offering a lot of the same processing but at a lower price point. They appear to have ‘streamlined’ the inputs and outputs and made the unit smaller to reduce the costs. However, the Helix LT still maintains the core DSP power of its larger sibling.
Modelling
You get a total of 62 amp models, 37 cabs, 16 microphones and 104 effects, giving you plenty to create your own guitar tones with. So expect plenty of power for this new version. Hopefully, it will be available at Musikmesse for everyone to try out.
Capacitive footswitches allow for easy patch selection just like the full fat Helix and you also get a nice sized screen to allow easy editing on the unit itself. Personally, I like that the new Helix LT is lighter and slightly smaller then the original Helix, as it is less to lug around and that for me is always a bonus with floor pedals.
You get the assignable foot rocker switch and it will take external expression pedals as well, you have the option of, say, adding a volume and a wah expression to the unit. It looks really well laid out, and factoring in the price point, this should prove popular.
I would suggest you check out the demo video below for a good overall demo of the new Line 6 Helix LT.
