These two new Schecter C-1 E/A Classic semi-hollow models are available in Satin Vintage Pelham Blue and Faded Vintage Sunburst finishes. Each has a Fishman Powerbridge, 24 jumbo frets and a set neck.

Schecter C-1 E/A Classic

Schecter has revealed two new C-1 E/A Classic semi-hollow models. These two new models are an updated and upgraded version of the previous C-1 E/A Classic, which was available in a Cat’s Eye finish, with a rosewood fretboard.

Half electric and Half acoustic

The guitars are being marketed as half electric and half acoustic by the company and feature the Fishman Powerbridge, which is a piezo pickup system. Paired with a set of passive Schecter USA Pasadena Plus (bridge) and Pasadena (neck) humbuckers.

Semi-Hollow

Other features include 24 jumbo frets, a set of Schecter locking tuners and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. The guitars are available in a Satin Vintage Pelham Blue or a Faded Vintage Sunburst. The guitar’s semi-hollow body is made from mahogany and has an arched top. The top is Zebrawood for the Faded Vintage Sunburst version.

The bodies have a neat looking Ivory multi-ply binding around the edge and the modern swoosh-shaped f-hole. On the rear of the body, there is a battery compartment for the Powerbridge system.

The controls consist of a Magnetic Volume and Magnetic Tone with a Push-Pull, Piezo Volume and Piezo Tone and a three-way output switch, with Magnetic/Both/Piezo. Plus the standard three-way pickup selector for the two passive humbuckers.

Set-Neck

The set-neck design has Schecter’s Ultra Access neck joint that makes getting to the upper frets a lot easier, as it sculpts away any unnecessary material. The 25.5″ scale length neck is a mahogany three-piece affair with a Thin C profile. With carbon fibre reinforcement rods for added stability. The 24 jumbo frets I mentioned earlier are set into an ebony fretboard with a 14″ radius, and a set of three-piece Pearloid block fret markers.

Versatile

These are certainly interesting guitars and the ability to mix and blend in piezo sounds with your standard pickups could be a great strength for players that require versatility. The listed MSRP on the Schecter site is $2149.00, though they have it slashed out and so it is currently $1499. This is hopefully, where the price will stay.
