Syncussion update

Behringer has posted an update to Facebook regarding the development of their clone of the Pearl Sycussion SY-1. We first saw a prototype back in July last year. Behringer says that the synth has gone through three revisions to get the sound right but the company says it has now nailed it.

The SY-1 was a precursor of the Simmons SDSV. It had two channels of percussion orientated synthesis controlled by the two rows of faders. The trigger inputs meant it could be played from electronic pads or pretty much anything. Behringer is looking to change the layout to make it fit into their favoured Eurorack sized format.

Behringer apologises for how long everything is taking in light of the global problem with component shortages and suggests that these challenges will continue into 2022. Looks like we’re all going to have to be patient.
