All new Ibanez AZ Premium 2024 models revealed head of NAMM
The Ibanez AZ Premium Series 2024 has had a refresh and introduces three new finishes and the return of HSS-configured models. Following on from the 2024 RG refresh, now there are new Premium updates.
AZ Premium Series 2024
The Ibanez AZ24P1QM model now comes in a Deep Ocean Blonde finish and an HSS configuration. The pickups are a set of Seymour Duncan Hyperion models. Including a humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck positions. The Ibanez dyna-MIX9 switching system and an Alter Switch, offer a versatile range of nine sounds from this setup.
Quilted Maple
Specifications include a solid basswood body with a quilted maple top. Plus, the AZ Oval C roasted maple neck with 22 stainless steel frets. Along with the mother-of-pearl dots, and Luminescent side dot inlays.
Hardware includes a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge and a set of Gotoh MG-T locking tuners.
New Finishes
New AZ Premium finish options include the Twilight Blue Burst, plus the AZ42P1 in Prussian Blue Metallic, and the AZ47P1QM Dragon Eye Burst finish.
Seymour Duncan & DiMarzio
Each model shares specifications like a basswood body, with the ‘QM’ models showcasing a quilted maple top and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets.
The Prussian Blue AZ42P1 comes with Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups in HH configuration. Whereas, the Dragon Eye Burst model features an HSH configuration with DiMarzio Air Norton and The Tone Zone humbuckers and a True Velvet single-coil. It also features an ebony fretboard on this model.
7-String
Finally, the new AZ427P2QM Twilight Blue Burst is a seven-string model with Hyperion 7 humbuckers and a rosewood fingerboard. This makes them perfect for players that need a low B for more depth and they come fitted with a pair of Seymour Duncan Hyperion 7 humbuckers.
