ZVex Abbey Road Fuzz Factory 7: Celebrating The Beatles with a 12-unit limited run
NOS 1960s germanium transistors and a special finish
ZVex has just announced the release of the Abbey Road Fuzz Factory 7, a pedal launched to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the seminal Beatles album of the same name. And it’s not exactly being produced in large numbers…
ZVex releases Abbey Road Fuzz Factory 7
2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album, which was released in 1969. To celebrate the occasion, Zachary Vex has announced the release of the new Abbey Road Fuzz Factory 7 pedal.
Window to the world of fuzz
This extremely limited edition extends to a mere 12 pedals. Each has a special livery featuring a rendition of the classic Abbey Road album cover, with, of course, a ZVex twist. The powder-blue, sparkling metal enclosures have a little window into the inner workings of the pedal, as well.
NOS 1960s germanium transistors
This pedal has two NOS 1960s germanium transistors that have been painted blue and emblazoned with “1969” and “2019”. You can see them through the little clear window on the front of the pedal and wonder at their vintage rarity.
Each unit has controls for tone, volume, gate, comp, drive and stab. Plus, there’s a nine-position rotary switch with preset tone stacks you can use. There have been a few limited edition Fuzz Factory 7 models, like the Russian and the Silicon, but this is easily the grooviest one so far!
Listening to the demos available, it sounds like the tones available can go into the more wacky, outré side of things if you want to go there. I reckon that these will sell out fast and become quite sought after, as the link to the Beatles will get a lot of wallets twitching for collectors.
RRP – USD 469
