Leaked

The guitars look like they will be just part of the full release though, as we know there could be an HSS version of the Stratocaster, possibly a Telecaster in there somewhere and definitely a bass model or two in thew lineup.

Of course, if you can hold out till Tuesday, then we will finally know all the official details from Fender themselves. Until then, tell us what you think of the new American Ultra Seriesย in the comments section below.

    “leaked”
Which is now code for “we accidentally on purpose let this out to the public.”
Still, that Cobra Blue is a tasty color.

The size specs don’t make sense on Jazzmaster. The Mocha Ultra reminds me of an old Teisco from Japan.

So apparently the American Elite was a poor choice for a guitar name. Also why would the world need another useless Jazzmaster? The dork factor is wearing thin. When this fugly and pointless design reaches a stage of normalization it’s stupidity will no longer be deniable.

I really expected something so much more or greater. Certainly some good features in there, but nothing that would make me want to buy a new Strat, for example. At least they didn’t go with the abomination of those idiotic ‘narrow tall’ frets again, but otherwise, in a word, BORING.

The same guitar as my mexican fender roadhouse deluxes! awesome! glad I bought two..i will never have to buy one of these “expensive American rip-off” versions…the jokes on somebody, not me!

Can anyone tell me how these aren’t just a renamed Elite/Deluxe series of guitars with a few new colors?

    Tjackson says:

It seems strange that theyโ€™d bring out another โ€˜modernisedโ€™ series of guitars a few years after the professionals, originals and performers. I vaguely gathered that the originals were AVRIโ€™s but with modern radius and pickups, the professional was the Standard but with updated wiring and pickups and the performers were specials but again updated. Presumably the ultra is the new elite or delux but the elite used to be a standard with a bit of bling, fancy pickups and a funny neck plate didnโ€™t it? And these new ultras are the price of a 2nd hand custom shop. I know what Iโ€™d rather spend ยฃ2k on.
If fender needed to release any new series a โ€˜really originalโ€™ wouldโ€™ve been good.
A 60โ€™s strat Tele or jazzer with a 7.25 fretboard. Thatโ€™s all I want and itโ€™s a bastard to find one. The mij reissues and Mexican 60s are more accurate than the โ€˜American originalsโ€™.
Correct me if Iโ€™m wrong about any of the series specs but thereโ€™s just too much choice thatโ€™s all way to similar, other than in price tag.

    Rant complete
