Mackie has dropped the motherload. A completely new collection of creator-focussed gear including mixers for streaming, content creation, and live sound, as well as other music performance gear.

Now that market leader RODE has acquired Mackie, we should see some exciting products offering diverse creative solutions rather than simply competing with each other. Let’s take a look!

Mackie DLZ-XS

As we’ve seen with the Rodecaster Pro series, the Mackie DLZ-XS expands the range with a more compact version of the DLZ creator-orientated desktop mixing console.

It’s equipped with a pair of Onyx 80 mic preamps with XLR combo inputs, giving you up to 80dB of gain to work with. Also there are two additional TRS inputs, and a stereo minijack input for mobile devices, as well as Bluetooth.

As usual, the 7-inch touchscreen provides main operations, while you have knobs instead of the faders on the larger DLZ model. Additionally, there is an SD Card slot and a USB port so you can do standalone recording onto external storage.

MainStream

The Mackie MainStream is a video and audio streaming interface with USB expansion and HDMI video capture. Stream at up to 1080p / 60 fps and there’s an additional HDMI passthrough port with up to 4K / 60 fps compatibility.

A single XLR combo preamp allows connection with most studio mics. Meanwhile, there are additional ports for headset mics as well as USB mics.

In addition to this, there are programmable buttons on the console for speeding up your in-stream workflow and all routing and mixing operations can be done with the Mackie Matrix Software.

MobileMix

The Mackie MobileMix is a compact USB-powered mixer with 8 channels, including two Onyx preamps with Hi-Z impedance switches, high-pass filters, and phantom power.

This console is designed for mobile production setups, allowing easy recording, live sound mixing, streaming, or content capture wherever you may be.

This is made possible with features like two-way Bluetooth, built-in effects, and multiple mix outputs.

ProFXv3+

The ProFX mixer series gets new additions to the range with the ProFX6v3+, ProFX10v3+, and ProFX12v3+ compact mixers. Each of these three new mixers is designed with a slightly different project in mind.

However, there are some common features like Onyx mic pres, XLR main outputs, and built-in audio interfaces and effects that are shared throughout the range as well as Bluetooth and loopback, for streaming setups.

Despite the flexibility that many digital consoles offer, compact analogue mixers still reign supreme for a range of different applications in home studios and other mobile rigs.

ShowBox

Now for something fun, the Mackie ShowBox is a complete mobile music performance and sound reinforcement solution with SD recording capabilities.

The unique design gives you a remote control console with its own stand adapter, giving you quick access to your mix levels and digital effects. Meanwhile, the mixer’s connectivity panel is positioned neatly behind the speaker which also has an optional backpack and stand.

This promises to be an exciting all-in-one solution for solo performing artists looking to busk, rehearse, or play small venues. Sadly, however, the dog is not included.
