Antares Auto-Tune Pro X is the new flagship of “pitch correction”
Running natively on Apple Silicon, the new Antares Auto-Tune Pro X plugin offers a revamped Graph Mode for precision editing and Auto Mode with real-time processing.
If you’re working in and around the commercial music space as an artist, producer, or engineer, you’ll most likely be an Auto-Tune user already, so this development is for you.
What’s new in Antares Auto-Tune Pro X?
With these new feature refinements, it seems like the aim is to offer a more complete vocal production solution. The edit window bears an uncanny resemblance to Celemony Melodyne, a tool with a ‘very particular set of skills’ and a completely different creative application.
Is Antares trying to make Auto-Tune Pro X the comprehensive solution for pitch correction? Only first-hand user experience with the software will tell, but it’s safe to say that most potential users of Auto-Tune aren’t using it primarily for correcting vocals.
From around 2006 onwards, Auto-Tune is a sound that has become easily as synonymous with pop vocals as the Rat pedal was with guitars in the 1980s. For this reason, many regard it as the instant T-Pain, Soulja Boy, or Kanye plug-in.
What Auto-Tune Pro X does bring to the table, is a faster more intuitive workflow and a preset manager that includes useful artist presets that new users will indeed find valuable.
