The Drumlogue from Korg gets a 1.2.0 firmware update. It brings some new features, bug fixes and a lot more Sinevibe Nano synth action.

Update 1.2.0

Drumlogue is an exercise in mixing analogue and digital synthesis for a versatile and well-rounded percussive and groovebox experience. The big feature is the ability to run the SDK Logue engine expansions, which gives you a wide choice of tonal character. The engine enables the inclusion of the Nano Synth from Sinevibes, and the new firmware has given it a good revamp.

The Nano Synth tweaks include the ability to reset oscillator phase with new trigger events, a new notch filter type, and three additional distortion algorithms. Motion sequencing on the envelopes is better; the oscillators are beefier at the bottom end, have an increased detune range, and the overall sound is brighter.

Other improvements include sorting out file transfers, fixing tempo-synced delays, retaining tempo after a “Clear All Pattern” action and fixing a display issue when changing a step from Tie to Rachet.

The 1.2.0 update is free to all users.

Original post from NAMM 2021:

Drumlogue

Combining digital synthesis, PCM sampling and multiple analog parts Drumlogue is hoping to offer a super wide range of possible sonic architecture. They say it has a revamped logue SDK for loading custom oscillators, effects and sample content.

It’s covered in knobs and a step-sequence row of buttons and is all about the hands-on performance. It has individual outputs for each channel. Information is scarce at the moment as this is a prototype with only a few published details and a sneak peek video.

Sounds very interesting and could bring an exciting take on the drum machine genre. Looking forward to hearing more about it. Here’s our reaction video, with the Gearnews team puzzling over where Korg is headed with the new Drumlogue:
